Between

I named this final painting “Between”. This is my self-portrait. I combined realistic and abstract techniques for this creation. The inspiration for the painting came from some landscape examples provided by the professor. The intention of my creation is to complete an original work for our final painting. I researched and examined reality and abstract expression. I decided to create my work in a bold and exaggerated way. In a general traditional concept, the flowers would more easily relate to girls. But, what about the combination of a boy and flowers? What kind of chemical reaction will there be for this combination? This is also my idea for the creation: the courage to break the shackles of tradition. "Between" means between reality and dream. On the side of reality, I am in a state of deep sleep. But in my dreams, I am surrounded by a sea of flowers. The main colors I used for flowers were yellow, light blue and pink because the collocation of these colors will present a kind of comfortable picture. The sea of flowers and grasses are more of a vibrant scene. I hope to give you a positive, visual feeling through this painting. I think that in 2020, many people had negative feelings. I believe that everything will be back to normal soon. We should always keep an optimistic and peaceful heart. We always need to believe. Finally, I will add eyebrows and some details to the characters of the painting. This is the way I think about my creation. I hope all of you can feel enthusiastic that my painting brings to you.
