Shatter Into Shape
Mixed Media: Collage and Monotype, 2020
Shatter Into Shape, done on a 14" x 16" piece of BFK paper, this piece first began as a couple of failed attempts to paint over monotype prints with watercolor. Instead of throwing them out I decided to cut them up to create something else, and due to my intrigue with human faces I decided to do just that. I made it look as if the pieces were coming together to form the face and the landscape behind him, the meaning behind this is, something doesn't have to be complete to be beautiful.
