Studio Art: Graphic Design
My name is Mikayel Harutyunyan, and I am graduating from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. Originally from Yerevan, Armenia, I moved to N.Y., at the age of 14. Appreciating the opportunity to find my own path, I chose the creative field, which I had been drawn to since childhood. Throughout my experience at Binghamton University, I have experimented with different kinds of design work in my classes, internships and jobs. In my Junior year I started my a graphic design job at Harpur Edge, and a layout design internship at Pipe Dream Newspaper, eventually becoming the Assistant Design Manager. During my Senior year, I have had the opportunity to intern for The Elsie B. Rosefsky Memorial Art Gallery, where I promote artist exhibition events by creating trifold flyers and posters. Because of my dedication to my classes and career, I was recommended by my professors to freelance opportunities TEDxBinghamtonUniversity, creating a logo and a program design for the event “UNEARTHED”.
Outside of design, my hobbies include fashion, music, movies, soccer, MMA and fitness. After graduation, I am looking forward to working in one of these fields, wherever my career will take me.
