Working with fundamental elements of photographic design, students are challenged to create compositions composed entirely of light and paper.
Emulations
Students identify a photographer whose work they admire and research the technical, aesthetic, and conceptual characteristics of their work, then apply this insight to their original imagery and subject matter.
3 Faces
Students consider how the relationship between photographer and subject impacts the image by creating a comparative study in photographing a stranger, someone they are in a close relationship with, and a self-portrait.
Social Distance
Students create a visual record of their physical and psychological experience of Covid-19 and the practice of social isolation, thinking about the role photography plays in building the historical record and its ability to present the viewer with both fact and fiction.
